Guidelines

General
Shooting shall be conducted in accordance with the G.N.A.S. rules of shooting AT ALL TIMES.
Any infringement of the Rules of Shooting will lead to disciplinary action being taken by the committee.
Children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian at all times.

Outdoor
When shooting outdoors, shooting shall be controlled by a responsible archer. Signals for control of shooting are:-
# 1 blast of the whistle to start shooting
# 2 blasts of the whistle to collect arrows
# repeated blasts of the whistle to signal that shooting must stop immediately

Archers shall remain behind the shooting line whilst others are still shooting.
Arrows shall not be placed in the bow while any person is in front of the shooting line.
Bows shall only be drawn in the direction of the target, and only from the shooting line.
Arrows may only be shot at the target, and at no time should they be shot straight up in the air, or behind the shooting line.
Archers should not run down the field to collect arrows, in case they should fall and injure themselves, or trip over an arrow in the ground.
Archers should walk to the targets, checking for arrows on the ground in front of them.

Indoor
When shooting indoors the outside door must be bolted, to stop people entering the hall whilst shooting is in progress.
Because of the layout of the hut, strict observation of the IN and OUT doors is necessary to avoid accidents.
Arrows should be left in the main hall.
Equipment should be set up in the bow area and not in the kitchen area.

Club Equipment
Where any archer is using club equipment, it should be treated with care so that others have the benefit of that equipment in the future. Any damage or breakages to borrowed should be reported so they can be repaired.
Bows should be braced using a stringer, if an archer does not know how to string a bow they should ask one of the club members.
Bows should be stored with care, ensuring that the sight is protected from damage.
Arrows should be withdrawn from targets as instructed by a coach; the archer should look behind them as they withdraw the arrow to ensure no one gets hurt.

Etiquette
Archers should behave in a manner that does not cause offence or annoyance to other archers.
Archers should remain as quiet as possible while other archers are shooting.
Archers should not touch other archers equipment without permission.
